The title refers to the Valladolid. Although, some people might be more familiar with the name Pucela. Incidentally, the origin of this famous nickname for Valladolid has no accurate answers.
In the 11th century, the city was improved by a certain count who goes by the name of Pedro Ansurez. During the previous year, it was captured from the hands of the Moors. However, Valladolid became the residence of several royalties when the 15th century entered. Needless to stay, it became Spain's capital until Philip II named Madrid as the capital in 1561.
It may not be the capital now, but this city still boasts of several tourist attractions. Some of these marvelous interesting spots include the Science Museum, National Sculpture Museum, Santa Maria la Antigua church, Plaza Mayor, etc. Also, the surviving house of famed Miguel de Cervantes is also situated in Valladolid. Another fact about this city is that residents of this region are believed to be the most fluent speakers of the Spanish language. However, there are those who say that such claims are not for the Pucelanos. Why? Solely for the reason that these people have the habit of breaking the Spanish language. A good example of such is the Pucelanos use of leismo. Now, leismo is not wholeheartedly accepted by Royal Spanish Academy.

Segovia is a destination you shouldn't miss when you go to Spain. The old city is filled with beautiful historical buildings such as the cathedral and the Alcazar castle. Yet Segovia's most famous treasure and attraction is the towering Roman aqueduct.
The granite structure stands as a huge architectural masterpiece of the ancient Romans not only in Spain but also in the whole world. It has been there for almost 2000 years withstanding all the strong storms, hurricanes, and earthquakes in the past centuries. The surprising fact is that not one of the stones are held by cement or any other binding material. Astounding, but true!
