Upon hearing about Spain's countryside, what comes to mind is a trail of adventure. Well, this might be true to some. The countryside of Spain may bring the adventures of Don Quixote to mind. Known as among the biggest countries in the European continent, Spain is revered by many tourists for its diverse cultural and geographical features. Of course, Spain wouldn't be popular among vacationists if it weren't for its numerous tourists attractions. The best way to explore the natural beauty of Spain is to go to at least one National State Park. Although Spain's capital city is short on historical monuments and cultural landmarks, Madrid is still among the famous and vibrant city in Spain. You should never forget to tour the city's top art museums if ever you would stay for a vacation in Madrid. The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia is Madrid's famous modern Spanish art museum. Another must-see museum in Madrid would be the Prado museum, wherein the world's most impressive art collections are kept.

Granada city's most well-acclaimed tourist destination is Alhambra. Alhambra is a magnificent fortress-palace especially established by the old Nasrid people a long time ago. The historical fortress's top attractions are the halls, delicate arches, loggias, stalactite vaulting, and marble sculptures. Meanwhile, near Alhambra is the Arab area of the Albaicin. The famed sites of Albaicin include the Church of San Nicolas, the Arab baths, and the Renaissance Casa de Castril.

Most countries have all these towns and cities that make up most of their culture and history. In Scandinavia, Sweden and Norway would be the most probable bets to actually hold Scandinavian culture. But in Spain, Valencia would probably be on top of the list! Now this city is roaring with Spanish culture, not to mention real good food and dining. Plus, it is quite easy to actually get around this city. With their almost perfect public transportation system and all, you know.

The roads and railways of Valencia have been well planned. This city boasts of clean streets, not to mention good public transport. The Aerobus is among the top choices for public transport commuting. There are also taxi cabs, but it would cost you more than a bus ride. Train stations are accessible to most areas within the good city. But in case you're headed to the airport, you actually need to reach the city's center via Avenida, and that's an Aerobus ride away. Now this bustling business center of the beautiful city has the train station which would take you straight to the Valencia airport.

The Valencia airport is just what you would expect from a clean and beautiful city. Yes, it's as clean and elegant as the actual city itself! Plus, its accessibility to most of Valencia's roads and railways makes it a prime destination for constant travelers. These people are usually Spanish businessmen and tourists. But the airport is under renovation since it is being made to house another train station. Yes, and this metro line would connect the airport to the beautiful beach, the port, and to God knows where!

Las Palmas is a piece of paradise occupying the northeastern are of Canary Islands. It is divided into two beautiful bayous and their beach resorts – Alcaravaneras and Canteras. Las Palmas is established in late 15th century and although almost five thousand years have already passed, it still bears the marks of its rich past and splendid culture. It houses four hundred people and is greatly involved in tourism sector's affairs.
Among the most significant places in Las Palmas is Vegueta, an ancient quarter. It was declared as a World Heritage in 1990 by UNESCO. Since the city descended from an army camp whose encampment is found in Barranco Guiniguada – the exact place where the chapel of Saint Antonio Abad stands today – tourists are likely to see military settlements. Among the most prominent are Triana and Vegueta quarters in Real Las Palmas. The quarters are set asunder by Calle Juan Quesada that leads to the center of Canary Islands.
The charming Las Palmas offers tourists with luxurious hotels, apartments, and Puerto de La Luz harbor that adds to the city's cosmopolitan air. It also features sailing and fighting sports while regattas are omnipresent on the sea during weekends. A devout city, Las Palmas also celebrate the feast of San Juan during the month of June.

The Castle y Lion. I just made up that translation. My Spanish is not that good, but at least, with the many tours I had in Spain, I managed to learn the basics. Anyway, traveling could be very tiring and stressful, but I really enjoy it. However, I never resume without a map in my hand. I do not care if I look stupid, but I literally open it whenever I feel like already lost in the streets of Spain. Besides, I just cannot talk to strangers. I would rather discover the city by myself.
Alone, excited, and equally nervous, I set foot on Castille. Actually, the place is always mentioned with Leon. The place is said to have been a fusion of two kingdoms. Castille is a very strange land. By the time I arrived there, weather forecasts began warning people to prepare for the three month-long hell. That only meant that in a few weeks, summer will finally end, and the terrible rainy winter will start pouring white snow in the city.
Amidst the preparation of the people, I still took time to visit the historical monuments in Castille. They are very impressive that they effectively convey the rich history of the kingdoms in Castille. Meanwhile, I also get to taste some of the sumptuous dishes in Castille. I expected them to be hot and spicy, and I was right. Good thing, they also have the finest wines. In the end, I decide to go to Portugal via the Guadiana bridge to stop over there before going home.

If you think that it is only in Costa Blanca that you could find impressive golf courses, you are mistaken. Just look around Spain, and you will other golf sites - more beautiful, inviting, and visited by more tourists. I am talking of Sotogrande. It is actually the home of the Valderrama club (the same club that hosted the Ryder tournament in 1997), and the host of the World Championship in 2000.
Sotogrande is a showcase of the luxurious residential and sports developments. It is merely 25 square kilometers, but it is an astonishing city to behold in Spain, and perhaps, in Europe. Sotogrande is the ultimate haven for people who would want to spend a quality leisure time. The first time I stepped on to Sotogrande, I was sure that we are going to have a good time. The whole place seemed to be detached to the busy Spanish metro.
I was able to visit Sotogrande when a friend of mine invited me to join the Spanish Golf Holiday. I did not play good enough, but I enjoyed the magnificence of this man-made sports paradise. According to our tour guide, Sotogrande was a remote land before an American site developer financed for the transformation of the city into a sports complex.

Spain is a showcase of some of the most spectacular sites in Europe. Just recently, I was invited to come to Gaucin, a rather secluded area in Spain that, given the proper time, will definitely become one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Spain. My trip to Gaucin was sponsored by the company where a friend of mine works at. I felt really fortunate to have been given this rare chance of exploring a new city in a very familiar country.
If I were to describe Gaucin, it is a winding road. I almost racked my brain in driving my rented stylish Toyota Yaris all over the town. Well, the city can be reached by plane or train from the central capital. The amazing views of Africa and Gibraltar can be sighted in the highest peak of Gaucin. Well, you can just go to the roof top and the panoramic view will lay before your very eyes.
According to the villagers, the name of the city is Arabian in origin. No wonder, the strategic position of the city enabled the Arabs, during the era when Romans and Greeks and Arabs are at war, to place their army there to protect Spain from being invaded. Although Gaucin has been 'invaded' the traditions were kept intact by the people. The city is home to tobacco and brandy. Also, most of the households of 2,500 residents do not have their own water supply and contain but a single light bulb. This is not a sign of poverty; rather, simple life prevails in the city.

Spain is known as one of the bastions of Catholicism in the whole world. More than that, Spain has a lot more to offer to its guests. One of its many attractions is the thrill or adventure in the Spanish countryside. This makes Spain a perfect place for an unforgettable holiday trip. I spent one summer vacation in Spain and I had a lot of memorable moments especially on the countryside.
Apart from that, Spain is also an ideal place for relaxing honeymoon travel especially for those couples who are nature lovers. There is no other better way to enjoy the countryside than through biking. Spain Adventures helped me all throughout my stay in the country. This company toured me around and within the countryside and the experience was indeed very relaxing and entertaining.
Such biking tour offers smooth-sailing, efficient, and comfortable ride. In addition to biking, Spain Adventure also allows you to have a sort of breathtaking tours by walking. Set your sights on the sights and sounds of the countryside. Plus, I was also given the chance to a great sightseeing stints which means minus the bike and the hike. These and whole lot more will surely make your holiday worth-remembering.

Last month, I visited a long time friend at Guadix, Spain. I told him that the place of his abode sounds not so Spanish. Guadix seems more of a computer terminology. Anyway, when I finally got there, I learned that there is more in Guadix than meets the eye.
The whole place made me feel like I am in another time. Perhaps, you would not believe me, but the people there live underground. The houses are generally called caves. If the central capital boasts with towering magnificent cathedrals, Guadix is humble with its roads lined with doors to the cave houses. Chimneys sprout like mushrooms above the cave-roofs. On the contrary, when I looked past the upper region of the city, the snow is topping the mountains of Nevada.
I have my car with me, but on my way to the cave of my friend, I was compelled to walk. I was even surprised to have been warmly welcomed by the people of Guadix. I told them that their houses are real extraordinary, and I could see that they are proud of them. Along the way, I can not but wonder what came to the minds of the people that they built cave homes. When I got to the house of my friend, I noticed how cozy caves could be. The structure is a perfect haven especially during hot summer days, since the rocks keep the scorching heat from penetrating the house. While caves are built like mansions underground, they are in every ways similar to ordinary houses with floorings made with marble, and fully furnished.

Traveling to Europe can be quite expensive, especially if you do not have any means of transportation to go around a certain country. That is why some tourists never have to go through the hassle of public transportation and instead, choose to rent a car. Driving your own car in Spain, for instance, would definitely enable you to see sights that are not visible when riding a bus or train.
However, driving in Spain can have some limitations. The country could be considered strict when it comes to motors and driving so be sure to have with you the essentials, whether you are on a temporary visit or a local taking the usual route to your destination. Two of the most important things to bring when driving are passport and driving license. Aside from other common papers like insurance, sticker, and vehicle documents, reflected jackets are also required and must be approved before use. Spares are also regarded a must in Spain so be armed with spare bulbs, tires, tools, and corrective glasses. To avoid accidents, it is suggested to have fire extinguisher and first aid packs in the car.

Traveling in Spain is like traveling in time. Relics of the past are preserved. Historical buildings and streets are still intact and part of the daily life. The two basic tools that may come handy while traveling in Spain are a camera and a Spanish tour guide book.
It would also be a good idea to review your Spanish lessons you learned in high school before embarking on a journey to Spain. Spain has the richness in historical heritage as well as the ambience of cosmopolitan modernity. Airfare one-way ticket to Madrid from New York may be as low as $1,665. If you are on a tight budget, affordable hotel rates in Madrid may range from $42 to $300 per day.

If you are traveling around Madrid, Spain, one place that you shouldn't miss is " El Museo de Prado." The museum is an ideal destination for the lovers of art, culture, and history.
They say that seeing a painting is like looking into the eyes of its maker. It speaks his deepest thoughts and passions. That claim has a certain truth in it.
Walking down the long corridors of Prado was a breathtaking experience for me. I was awed as I passed from one masterpiece to another. Every room had a surprise. I saw the works of Velasquez, El Greco, Murillo, Zurbaran, Goya and other famous painters.
I spent half a day touring the museum. It was an enriching experience. There were just so much art, culture, and history all over the place.
